BREAKING THE BONDAGE OF SIN
We are going to be considering the relevance of grace through overcoming sin.
All humans are born sinners based on the disobedience of our first parent - Adam, by which we have the nature of sin. This sin is called original sin or natural sin since it's something that we are born with. No wonder King David lamented saying; "Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me." - Psalm 51:5.

The Scripture says that we were created in the image and likeness of God, male and female (Genesis 1:26-27); a life free of sin. However, Adam and Eve fell from this grace through disobedience by eating the forbidden fruit. Such act marked the beginning of the nature of sin which was also passed down to their offspring.
Sin itself leaves us in bondage and subjects us into the Kingdom of darkness. It makes us live under condemnation, shame, guilt and steals our joy. This leaves us hopeless and vulnerable to the attack of the enemy after having depreciate in our hearts the presence of the loving Father.
On the other hand, there's a way out. The way out is Christ Himself.
Romans 5:15; But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. (16) And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. (17) For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. (18) Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. (19) For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. (20) Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: (21) That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
We have to accept the free gift that Christ has provided us, the gift of righteousness. When we believe in Him, Jesus who has died for us for the salvation of humanity, we come into the newness of life, for the old has gone and the new life has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).
When we rest on His abilities and accept Him as our Saviour, we will begin to produce His kind of fruits and live a life above sin.
John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins to Him, He's just and faithful to forgive us and cleanse us from every wrong.
Where sin abounds, grace super abounds. We have to grow in the revelation of what God's grace is and by this, be transformed by God's Love. It's the trans-formative power of the Gospel that brings us to the kingdom of light and peace.
Knowing your identity is discovering how God sees you. When He sees you, He sees the sacrifice of His Son on the Cross. You have to believe that you have been made righteous by what He has done.
