Before the birth of Jesus Christ December 25 used to be a pagan's day of Sacrifice. But during the days of Constantine the head of Roman Church which in our day is known to be Catholic church, in the year 533 AD.
He changed the pagan's day of Sacrifice to be the Commemoration of the birth of Christ, he called the day the Mass for Christ (CHRISTMAS) Christ means the Anointed one while Mass means the Big gathering of people, which means Christmas, in order word Christmas is the gathering of the people of Christ.
Christmas is a day where Christ followers shared the love of Christ among themselves, demonstrating the love of Christ between them, sharing food and gifts to each other.
Christmas is all about Christ and his people, today Christmas is being celebrated all over the world, stopping the sacrifice of pagan's, Constantine purpose was to carry the pagans along, so the won't continue with the evil way but shown love to each other.
It is not about buying new dresses or shoes it about Christ the living Christ, it's about making others to see and experience the love of Christ. When the use of a thing is not understood abuse is inevitable.
That is why we used this season, to demonstrate the love of Christ the to the people, shared clothes, Bible and freebies to children, shared the word of Christ to the people, this year we visit a community call bohar in Akwanga Nassarawa state.
Conclusion
Many came and acknowledge Christ as there Lord and savior, some were heal of sicknesses, relationship being restore to the glory of God. I wish we will come to understand that Christmas is not all about you and your family but is beyond that, you can try to make the Christmas of someone around you, be the reason why someone will smile during this season.
