When I hear someone say "I know myself better than anyone"

This makes me smile cause activities are most telling. That is, if you are most aware.

if I just encourage them to take some meds and once stable, slowly build those insights.

So true. Reminds me of a nephew who stopped taking his meds because the new girlfriend said you don't need it and your family are being mean.

my focus is now is trying to get them to see their blind spots.

Speaking from experience, the individual needs to experience some form of enlightenment. Best we can do is keep trying to influence change and not give any indication that you are trying to change them into something that is unknown from their perspective.
