Trekking through Moroccan countryside in the high Atlas mountains in February was such a peaceful experience, I could have never imagined it would feel more like a pilgrimage walk. The landscape is beautiful, the earth is red-orange, the homes are made out of mud so they blend in completely, the sky has a deep blue color, all the trees are bare except for all the almond trees flowering, the air is fresh, the women are washing their clothes by the river as if time has stopped in a different century, the men are working in their crop fields, it is so quiet everywhere and calm. Life is so simple and hard but everyone seems to smile and always says hi. I hope we never forget that, to smile and say hi...
