I highly recommend it. It's called Rurouni Kenshin. It's set in 1870s Japan, when it opened up to the world. It shows how a nation that had been closed off to the world for over 400 years has changed. Look for the original anime, from the '90s, because they did a remake now, and it doesn't look as great.
