We (Collins & Leah) live in Huntsville, Alabama which received about 97% totality of the eclipse, but we wanted to see it at 100% totality...and we're SO glad we made that decision. It was a holy experience, truly breathtaking and surreal.

We drove up to a friend's house in McMinnville, Tennessee who lives on top of a mountain. The small neighborhood all met at the community lake to celebrate together. We had a delicious, light picnic lunch and caught up with friends.

We kept using our ISO eclipse glasses to look at the progress of the moon moving across the sun....I wish I could show you pictures of what it looked like!
We had over an hour of waiting for the total eclipse, so we started having fun with Moon Pies (Moon Pies, a mass produced desert made in Tennessee) to 'show' the status of where the moon was!
When the moon was about halfway across the sun we started to notice a definite drop in the temperature...not too long ago it was too hot to be standing in the sun for long, and now it was cool and crisp.
These eclipse glasses are crazy, you can see absolutely nothing in them except the sun!
Here is the start of the total eclipse...you can see how quickly the sky starts to darken...
Right when it turned 100% and we could take off our glasses...
Now for a comparison...here's us at 1:10pm...
And here's the same spot at 1:30pm...
Obviously you can't see the eclipse through a camera phone, but if you look there's a tiny dot in the center of the sun that is the moon. You can also see Venus, the bright star on the right. At the very end of this short clip you can see what it looks like as the moon moves away from the total eclipse!
We then celebrated by Leah eating her first Moon Pie!
