RE: Reversing the power-down-delay to a power-up-delay.
This would at least solve something. How about direct ability to upvote for Steem rewards, but slow and gradual ability to participate in voting for witnesses? Direct engagement (important for on-boarding

RE: Hello, world.
Hi @theoretical, as you like system design, here's an additional idea: When Powering Up you can directly upvote and influence the rewards structure with your stake, this incentivizes people to participate

Exactly. Maybe the Steem rewards for upvotes are not so critical for the infrastructure here. At the moment we have 12 sock puppets witnesses that are not even able to handle the price feed. This messes

RE: The History of Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPOS)
It's amazing to see how much patience and goodwill can be found in the Steem community, giving attention and time to people that would not particularly deserve it. Here's an upvote :) #SteemOn

If Justin bought 70M normal Steem (instead of that ninja-mine), there would not be any problem.

The conundrum with Tron is mainly due to the ninjamined stake, it's origin, the discussions around it and the promises made about it. Without such a big stake, there would be no problem. @theoretical is

I understand, but in principal 'Code is Law'. From that viewpoint there was no prior contract (it was not in any version approved by supermajority, although there have been many proposals and discussion

RE: Open Letter to the Steem Community.
In a blockchain like Steem, the contracts and therefore the law is codified in the version of the Steem software that witnesses run. Community votes witnesses. Witnesses discuss possible changes to protocol

They savagely and fearlessly attack almost any other species when their barrows are intruded upon. Yes, very much like us.

If you think @blocktrades is the first to talk about consensus mechanisms on this platform after reading a 2020 post, you are sadly mistaken. The DPOS systems has been posted, blogged and commented about

It's why I really emphasize to listen to people like @whatsup and you. I'm generally a pretty big fan of Dan Larimer's ideas, but even as he's now going for a new social attempt with Voice, he might be

We need to take this into account when iterating a new system. Getting it right may be actually pretty damn complicated.

Did it not feel real when ned doxxed you? It's all fun and games for me, if have next to nothing in terms of steem stake. But for others, where a serious part of their capital is invested in this, it is

The problem with being right is you can never learn life lessons from that. Making mistakes, being wrong and admitting to it, then taking responsibility can lead to personal growth. Come to think of it,

If you code the rules to be fixed, no updates are allowed, ever? Good luck with making perfect software, without vulnerabilities or bugs, while the environment in which the software must run is changing

Starting fresh, without Steemit Inc or its stake. Wasn't that what the whole post was all about?
