When you Transfer STEEM From Bittrex to Steemit.com

I have found more than 20 private memo keys pasted in bittrex memo fields just by searching on steemd.com on the last 5 days. I assume they pasted the PRIVATE MEMO KEY in the memo field.

What can your keys do

PermissionPosting KeyActive KeyOwner KeyMemo Key
Post,Comment,Vote,Follow
Transfer Funds,
Initiate Market Trades,
Change Permission Keys,
Vote For Witnesss
Power Down/Up
Change the ''Owner Key''
View Encrypted Messages

As you can see the private memo key doesn't do much. But it can be used to view your encrypted messages. It can actually be used to login to your account, as I've tested for myself.

So next time you have to sent steem from an exchange, pay attention. Only use your Public Memo Key that starts with STM...if they ask for a memo key.

I've contacted the users that leaked their keys on discord, and sent a memo reminder to those that don't have a discord account , to change their memo passw asap.
