Yeah, while making the drawing, I felt the same way. The absence of manes in female lions could sometimes make them look like some breed of dogs. Also their golden skin colour makes no different from some dogs. Lastly, they have similar behaviours as dogs and have been mistakes for dogs many times in the wild.
