Hello Steemians. I hope you're all having a great day
Most times when people hear a person (mostly women) are in an abusive relationship, they urge her to leave and always wonder why she finds it difficult to let go of the relationship. It's not always as easy as it sounds. In most cases, it's difficult to leave an abusive relationship especially when the abused has distanced themselves from their family and friends. It's even more difficult to leave a significant relationship when the abused is being threatened emotionally, psychologically, physically and financially.

The abused feels threatened, alone, confused and scared but also hoping for a change somehow. They ponder on how their abusive partner would feel when he discovers they're leaving and what he would do afterwards. Also, they feel alone in this not realizing there are hundreds of thousands of women going through this and in the same way not realizing that there are alot of people ready to help and get them out of their situations safely.

If you're being abused it is necessary to have in mind that you're not responsible for being abused or battered. You and your children (if peesent) deserve safety, happiness and respect. And finally, you aren't responsible for the bad nature of your partner.

In my next posts, I'll be sharing tips on when and how to leave an abusive relationship so please stay tuned for those. I hope you found this article helpful.
