Its been a while since I made any wildlife drawing involving any reptile. Honestly, Its quite difficult trying to draw their scales and detailss. Also, they could seem really scary i just kept my reptile references away for a while.
Well, that changed today when I stumbled upon a photograph of a Adder which is a venomous snake. I decided to give it a shot to atleast see how the drawing would look and I wasn't disappointed with the result.
I used a black ball point pen and pelican paper for this drawing.
Here are the steps involved;
Firstly, I drew the outline of the snake coming out of a hole and added all its essential features and scale pattern.
Next, I began to shade and add details to the snake's skin/scales.
Finally, I shaded the remaining parts of the snake's skin, the hole and background until I got a satisfactory result.
