Hello my dear friends
This is a movie i have watched few weeks ago yet i only have the time to talk about it now. First of all, if you’re Indonesian you must already know how popular this movie are. Since it became such a popular talk in all over social media, it piqued my interest. I am not one whom curious about horror movie but if its so popular, of course it makes me want to know what makes so many people love it. I know some of my friends became such a die hard fan of this movie. They even rewatched them in cinema.
When it came to horror movie, i must say that its one of the hardest genre for a movie to produce. It because they must make a movie about ghost that most of us cant see in our daily life in a way that make us think it make sense that all the things happened in the movie happened. For me, a good horror movie is a movie that can convince the viewers to understand the producer point of view without questioning if its real or not. I always have a big respect for a good horror movie. Yet, most of the horror movie that i watched leaves me with some dissatisfaction and unanswered questions .
Pengabdi Setan 2 Communion is the second movie of the already infamous Pengabdi Setan released few years back. Pengabdi Setan means Satan’s Servant. As the title follows, the bad guys in the movie are the satan’s servant. They’re all human that wants things they shouldnt have in this world. Since it seems like God didnt grant them their wishes, they come to satan. Satan granted their wishes and in return they must turn away from God and worship satan. They do bad and absurd things like killing and such in the name of satan. Its crazy to think but i believe that something like this is a dark truth in our society.
This is a review and not spoiler so i will not talk about the storyline too much other than the things related to what i want to say. If i must be honest, i dont understand why and how this movie became such a hot and popular movie. Maybe it was because a good promotion? Because for me, its not a good movie at all. Many people complaining about the flashlight effect that showed a lot in this movie. I must agree. They used the flashlight effect too much to the point that it hurt my eyes, especially because i have a good eyesight. I dont think the flashlight is necessary at all.
I also dont like that the movie didnt give us the reason why it happened. Why those people dies? Why they’re the choosen one to experience all the horror happened? Who’re all those satan’s worshippers and where they come from? There’s so many unanswered questions in my head. When i asked this questions to the people who loves this movie, they dont even know the answer too. So, how come they love a movie they don’t understand? I dont even know.
So guys, if you watched this movie and love it. Please tell me the reason why yoh love it because i can’t understand why.
