In this post, i will share the hotel i visited during my first time travel with my husband and family. This hotel located in Parapat, Toba Lake. Toba Lake itself are the biggest lake in Indonesia, located in North Sumatera. Make sure to come and enjoy this place if you ever visited North Sumatera.
First of all, eventhough lake toba is one of the most popular travel destinations in North Sumatera, the development in there is still not as fast as i would like to be, especially if we compared it to another travel destination in Indonesia. If we’re looking for chic and unique hotel in there, it will be difficult to find. No matter how expensive the hotel are, most of the room designed like 1 star hotel room, maybe the difference were the size of the room. To be honest, that is the reason why i always reluctant to visit Lake Toba. My travel means staying in a comfortable hotel room, eat a good food, and maybe looking at the good view. A cute, chic, unique hotel can attract me way more than anything. How about you, my dear friends? What do you looking for in your travel? Anyway, i know that nowadays they started to build some glamping sites and chic hotel room in some area near lake toba which i am so happy to know. I wish that the hotel in there started to compete and catch up in the area of architecture and design as it can attract more customers in the future, especially the youngsters that usually prefer to go to Bali or Thailand rather than Lake Toba.
Me and my family stayed in Mess Pora - Pora T. Rizal Nurdin. This mess is intended for both government employees and public. I dont know the price since we stayed there for free, but from what i have heard the price that we have to spend to stay a night in this place is affordable.
The two pictures i attached in here showed the parkir area of this mess and what is this meds looks like from the main road. I dont understand the meaning of the yellow and orange design in the building. Is it something related to the culture? From what i know, it doesnt seems so. So, i was quite confused to see it as i dont think that design is flattering at all. It looks quite outmode. But, if its something related to the culture then its beautiful and understandable as i think that design related to culture will always be antique and beautiful.
The name holder is also looking unfinished. Rather than looking unique, it makes the whole look to be messy and unclean. I seriously questioning the plan and thoughts of the architect behind this building. If i am not mistaken, this mess is owned by province’s government so they must have enough budget to hire a goof architect and build a good looking building. I am nit saying that the whole building looks bad, but i can feel some questionable decisions making from me to the people behind this building.
This is what the building looks like from the back (if we look at them from the lake toba point of view. So, there’re two entrance of this place. The first one are from the main road and the second one if we come from the lake, which is this. I think that this place is newly build or something because its so different from other part of the building. In this area, the place looks new. It looks new in terms of the material and design. While other area in this place looks outmoded, this specific area looks chic which is the reason why this area became my second most favorite spot in this place. I was quite disappointed that they didnt make the floor totally evenly because it became this messy when it rain even a little. There’re many puddle in there which is such a turn off for me. For the suggestion of improvements, i hope that they paint the statue that held the lamp, unfinishing looks like that make it looks unclean and it didnt match the flooring.
Me and my husband stayed in twin bed rooms in second floor. We choose the second floor despite the twin bed because we want the balcony and the view as the first floor doesnt have any balcony and all we can see from the window are trees. The room is quite big and have enough facilities. They have shelf, tv, air conditioner, hot water, vanity mirror, table, and chairs. I dont expect that the room is quite big like this. As i said myself in the beginning of this post, we cant expect much from the design in hotel in the area since it will be so simple. It seems like they dont care at all and just out everything that we need in there, which is fine but not gonna be my choice of travel as it was not my style.
Excuse me and my husband picture in here as i forgot to take the balcony view of our room. The view of balcony looks gorgeous so me and my husband stayed there the whole evening.
From Mess Pora Pora, we can crossing the lake directly as they have many boat stayed right in front of them.
