LOH #62 Holiday Is The Only Time That I Choose To Not Travel And Here Is Why…

I was so excited about the challenge last week because the topic is something that really close to my heart, but sadly i missed the chance to submit my entry because i was so busy. In this week challenge, i promised to myself to not missed it and that is why i try to make my entry as fast as possible. Today is another busy and tiring day for me, my eyelids feel so heavy but it will not stop me from sharing my thoughts about this week’s challenge. The question for this week challenge are “Do you like to travel during holidays or stay close to home?”
I am someone that really live to travel. I probably can live with full time traveling because i am someone that rarely getting homesick. Weirdly enough, even though i am someone with that kind of personality, i dont like to go or be far away from home when its the time of holiday. I have few reasons which i will tell some later. But many people said that i am pretty weird. People usually love to use the holiday as the chance to travel somewhere they cant be in another time, mostly because of work.
So, my reasons are:
- Holiday season = many people plus expensive rate.
Yes, if we traveling during holiday season, it means that we should be ready with the consequences which is expensive rate for almost everything. The most common higher prices are obviously the accommodations . For example, flight ticket can go for as much as 4 times the original price (unless we booked them from at least 6 month before). For the hotel rates, it wont be as extreme as the flight ticket but it can go as far as 2 times the original price, or the worst scenario, the hotel that we want to booked are sold out, it happened to me when i decided to travel during busy seasons. For the food also, it became more expensive a bit. Everything will be cheaper when there’s less customers.
- New Reason = Pandemic.
Eventhough we were still on pandemic. It doesnt stop people from traveling (including me). So i will surely avoid the time i will be stuck with so many people. I want to travel and i want to be safe at the same time. So traveling with so many people during holiday is a big no for me. I mean, i dont even like to going out in the weekend because its only gonna give me a lot of anxiety.
- I like to be close with family.
As i said before, i am someone that able to travel a lot. In contrary, i feel the need to be close with my family during holiday. So i always think that its gonna be such a waste if i go out also in those time. People might ask, well why not travel with family? To be honest, our family is not that type of family. We were rarely ever going somewhere together, like traveling. But, we spent a lot of time together at home.
