Four years in August 2020, in celebration of a Hive milestone, I began the tradition of delegating HP to redfish. When I was planning this post, I did not realise that it was that long ago, and that, other than increasing the size of the three delegations from 50HP to 100HP, I've been doing this consistently every month since then. That I've not missed a month - powering up and delegating - surprises nobody more than I!

Two years later, in July 2022, Hive account@lizelle, Hive account@coquicoin (herself a recipient of one of my delegations) and I (Hive account@fionasfavourites) joined me, and February this year (2024) Hive account@ifarmgirl joined our Power of Three to make the Fabulous Four.

What do we do?

Thank you for asking: each month, after Power Up Day, we each delegate 100HP to deserving redfish - to use as they please - for 21 days.

That means that, between four of us, three deserving recipients now get

How do I win?

Well, as they say in the classics, you have to be -

First

You have to meet our criteria for delegations:

Criteria for delegations

To be eligible for a delegation from the Fab Four, you must meet the following criteria – we do check –

• Your account must be be less than 6 months old
• You must have at least two qualifying posts since the previous power up day.
  Posts that qualify must have 200 words or more and exclude posts for Power Up Day, and Actifit.
  As a reminder, the reason for second criterion is because -
  Hive is a social blockchain: it's for socialising, ruminating and just generally hanging out.
• You have a reputation of less than 61
• You have not more than 500 HP in their accounts before they power up - both on the first of the month

OR

If your account is new and you haven’t had the RCs to post more frequently, you must meet at least these criteria:

• there must be an introductory post of at least 200 words, but preferably more posts (also of 200 or more words, that are not about gaming or Actifit)
• the account should have either powered up what it can on the first of the month, or had help to power up.

How do we select the winners?

Firstly, as I mentioned, we check your account to see that you meet our criteria. If there are more than three eligible accounts, we feed the account names into an online random selection tool and we delegate the HP to the three accounts that it chooses.

Oh, and we also share screenshots of the process - just to make it fair and open.

But

We do have an unashamed bias

In addition to those criteria, we give preference to those accounts that are candidates for the Silver Bloggers' Community. All four of us are members and the community is Hive account@lizelle's brainchild.

Second

You can either nominate yourself or another deserving redfish by commenting on my Hive Power Up Day post on 1 June 2024. Look our for it!

So that we can make our delegations between the 5th 6th of the month, so that we can do both our diligence and our delegations by the 7th. This means that there will be a countdown on my #HivePUD post, and comments posted after that time will not be considered.
