May all our clouds this year, be as pretty and benign as this one.
Yesterday was a not entirely quiet day: I spent at least half of it in my other office the kitchen. More of that soon - it's summer harvest time, so expect a lot.
Resumption of Monday things
Although it was a public holiday in South Africa, Tuesday is not and, for me, the end of any sort of license to skive off. So it was back to my usual meat free Monday commitment.
So, the first meat free Monday supper of 2023, was lentil burgers served over hummus and under tzatziki.
I made these burger patties a few months ago and was disappointed at how they fell apart. Freezing them dealt with that. I shall certainly make them again. I have learned some coping strategies and they are a great standby for when the creative juices and energy have run out.
Of course, if you lose the cheese and replace the tzatziki with a tomato or other plant-based sauce, the meal would be vegan.
No, if you're wondering, we won't be doing Veganuary, and it's not that I don't approve, it's just that life is a compromise, as I explained last year.
I have to develop a new rhythm this year. By this time next week, a significant chunk of my time will have been freed up because I am relinquishing a high maintanance client. When that happens, I hope that my focus on Hive, Silverbloggers, blogging, my day job, and many other things will be better directed.
