Hey guys!! It's been a while since I last posted. I've been a little busy as my college will be re-opening this week. Over the semester break, I learned a lot of new things. I did many little projects with arduino and other electronics, and I also learned Java and Android Development.

So I have decide to share my knowledge once my classes starts. We have this Internet of Things club in my institution which enables students to work on their own projects by providing us with all sorts of equipment. There is also a Fabrication Laboratory, with some awesome tools for makers, like 3D printers and laser engravers. Its cool.

I have come up with a plan for a 15 day Arduino workshop, where a student can go from having zero experience in programming or hardware prototyping to be adequately competent to work with all the basic modules and sensors used with Arduino or other micro-controllers. I have decided to first teach my friends in my own class and later, make the program public for all the students to join, so my friends can help me.

I will post the study schedule (which I plan to print out and distribute among the learners) here and will also post further updates once I start executing the program. This will be completely free of any costs ;)

The Syllabus

Day 1: LEDs

Blinking LEDs with Arduino. Learn the basic structure and syntax of an Arduino program.

Day 2: Pushbuttons

Learn to implement a pushbutton in a circuit. Learn about pull-up and pull-down resistors and how to use them.

Day 3: Potentiometer

Learn about analog inputs and outputs with a potentiometer. Simple implementation like varying the brightness of LEDs

Day 4: Piezo Buzzer

Let the success make the sound! Learn to use a Piezo Buzzer to produce different notes and even combine them to make music!

Day 5: Motor

They see me rollin' They hatin'. Learn how to operate a motor with arduino. Control speed, rpm and other factors of the motor.

Day 6: Servo Motor

A servo motor is an important piece of hardware while making toy robots and other contraptions. It will be handy to have it under your skill set.

Day 7: Photoresistors

A photoresistor c an be used to detect light and do some actions based upon the intensity of incident light.

Day 8: LCD Module

Display information in a digital screen! Begin by displaying your name on a screen. The possibilities are endless with this one. You can even write up a game like snake, ping-pong or even space invaders, which can be played on the screen.

Day 9: OLED Screen

An OLED screen is a beefed up version of an LCD screen. It is more powerful as you can display bitmap images and stuff in this one.

Day 10: Humidity and Temperature module

Use your knowledge with the LCD and OLED modules to create your own weather station!

Day 11: Real Time Clock (RTC) Module

Use your arduino to keep time! Learn how to use an RTC module to create a digital clock! You can use this knowledge to make your own arduino mini watch too!

Day 12: Bluetooth Module

Experience real connectivity between devices by using a bluetooth module to control your sensors with your phone!

Day 13: WiFi Module

Enter the real face of Internet Of Things, by learning to implement an ESP WiFi board, and connect devices over the internet. The entire course culminates to this lesson, after which you will have mastered all the basics about prototyping your own projects with Arduino.

This is not a course which will get you an industrial certification. However, it will make you an intermediate arduino developer. You can use the strong foundation you get from this course to further study how different components work and incorporate your knowledge of the different modules to build an awesome project!

So that was my introduction for this course. I will post further updates in the future about the different lessons. I am really looking forward to carry out this course in my college!
