Confirmation bias…the bane of my existence…I try really hard to counter it with fresh ideas and counter-arguments. Sometimes I get caught up in the momentum of an “idea,” and it's hard to slow down and change course.

And to broaden this subject matter, when people get caught up in their biases, relating to your “follow the money” notion, I find that it’s important to look at what people do, not what they say.

Because people, in a lot of cases, can be hippocrates. Not that people are evil, but their actions often fall far short of what they say. Maybe people don't think things all the way through and do enough introspection to confirm their ideas match their actions. Bold impulsive proclamations with a little insight or evidence seems to be a thing these days with social media just to get those electronic dopamine hits.

And simple is a lot easier to mentally digest than complex…so confirmation bias panders to that easily.
