You make a great point.

That is one of the exceptions and problems; having a boss that knows and appreciates our value. And if we're not vocal about it, they may not care. There are other exceptions as well; if the business is managed poorly, if it's a declining industry, or if we’re going through an economic recession; which is the case now.

I guess we need to interview our bosses when they interview us to feel how much they value their employees.
