When former students die on the front lines in Ukraine, their deaths aren't mourned as waste; they are canonized in mandatory memorial events, teaching younger students that their highest potential value to society is self-sacrifice for the regime.
I assume that most(all?) countries have some level of propaganda. Still I am glad that in my childhood I was not brainwashed into believing that the best I can do is die for some dictator's cause.
