According to the google:
Common stereotypes about Lithuania and Lithuanians include the belief that basketball is a national religion, people are cold and reserved, and the country is part of Russia or post-Soviet gloom
I mean...our national basketball team has not done anything in many years. We have almost no hope to play in a world cup at the moment. My favorite team had some great seasons but other teams are playing in a much lower level competitions... and still failing most of the time. So it may or may not be our religion. But we are no longer as good at it. And like most religions it is praised for either ancient history or fiction...I do believe that we are more cold and reserved than let's say Spain, Italy... But to this day considering Lithuania to be part of russia is just stupid. We left them long ago and we never wanted to be part of russia. We have our land, language and for better or for worse our religion(basketball)...😛
