As I have posited, "restaurants" in the future will just be a factory of kitchens (probably manned by robots - or "cobots") and people will order through apps and have it delivered.

It seems like stainless steel rat books predicted the future, from what I remember this is what happened in those books. Main character even had a hideout in those food factories one or few times. The reason is simple- almost no one was coming there so Stainless Steel Rat felt safe there.
