I am not religious but I do believe that these words are true. In my opinion in this case ,,wait and hope'' basically means ,,don't give up''. So I even used them in one of my pieces:

“He died doing what he wanted no matter what right? I bet he died happy”

I think that it is important to live our lives as we want because if we will live as others wants us to live our lives will not really be our own.
