Sunday is here with us again, and so far as we are alive to see this wonderful day: We can’t stop but say THANK YOU to the Lord almighty. Throughout the fourth week of June He has and still is keeping us safe from the plans of the wicked ones. And like I always say, it is just by Grace that we are still where we are today.
Our theme for today is;
With Christ In Our Boats
Mark 4:35-39
35
That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” 36
Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him.
37
A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped.
38
Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?”
39
He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
When Jesus Christ started his ministry with all his twelve disciples, the Bible makes us to understand that one evening, Jesus told his disciples that they should go across the other side of the lake and as they set off their journey to the other side of the lake: strong wind started to blow up halfway and waves began to spill over to their boat.
The more they prevented the water from entering their boat, the more the waves spill them over into their boat. So this process continued to a time that made all the disciples in the boat gave up and saw their strength have been exhausted.
All through the waves coming along with strong winds, Jesus Christ was asleep at the back of the boat with his head to a pillow. So the disciples woke him up and said they were about to get swallowed by the storm and die.
When Jesus Christ heard that, the Bible makes us to understand that, He stood up and commanded the wind to be quiet. And all of the sudden there was a great calm.
When we have Jesus in our boats, there will be total joy, peace, and prosperity. No storm or waves can stand us and no matter how hard it gets with the presence of Christ in our boats, all will be calm.
We must never let go of Christ in our lives because without Him we are nothing. No matter how many times we pray in a day or how often we study our Bibles or the size of our tithes and offering or our gifts, challenging situations will confront us. But we must be sure of this: With Jesus in the boat we will stand firm after the challenges.
No need to press the fear button because that will not ensure for our benefit. But with Christ in us, we are assured of victory against challenges in life.
