Most people don't know how to use said technology, so it's prone to a wave of scammers similar to Charles Ponzi and his Postal Stamps Company.

I don't believe what Charles Ponzi did 100 years ago to be proof that all postal stamps systems are a scam. The US Mail uses them until today, almost a century after Ponzi died. The same way I believe the lack of knowledge about how a new technology or concept works is a great path for scammers to exploit.

I don't know how Niantic might adopt the use of NFTs, but I am very skeptical about the results independent of their intentions. Never doubt the powers of human stupidity and dishonesty to abuse said system. And I am not accusing the company, but some actors that will find a way to abuse the system.
