Coincido en sus apreciaciones. Todo padre decente quiere que sus hijos sean felices y mejores que él mismo; incluso queremos dejarles un mundo mejor que el que recibimos. En esto último pareciera que no hemos tenido mucho éxito, pero si es así, tal vez se deba al buenismo e indulgencia de leyes y sistemas educativos que han puesto todo el peso en los derechos, ignorando las obligaciones.
Estimo que estamos a tiempo; en realidad, nuestros hijos están a tiempo de enderezar el rumbo del mundo si así lo deciden.

I agree with your observations. Every decent parent wants their children to be happy and better than they were; we even want to leave them a better world than the one we inherited. It seems we haven't been very successful in this last respect, but if that's the case, perhaps it's due to the overly generous and lenient laws and educational systems that have placed all the emphasis on rights, ignoring responsibilities.

I believe we still have time; in fact, our children still have time to set the world on the right course if they so choose.
