Easy peer-to-peer! Steem for fiat

I've recently come across https://swapsteem.com which allows you to list offers for steem and sbd. You can either pay or receive in PayPal. I believe there were other ways to get paid too but, you know, seeing PayPal listed was good enough for me.

While I haven't tried it myself yet, it looks legit so I hope it grows popular. Developed by @swapsteem.

Dat Smartsteem algorithm

@ginabot kept notifying of every single vote I got from smartsteem and this really creepy thing stood out: you'll get votes from @smartmarket and @therealwolf first, then a selection of upvotes, but in an order where it starts from $0.03 and slowly increased by an average of 0.01 on each upvote.

The weight of an upvote, how early it comes and how many people upvoted before you are the set of verifications steem makes to decide how much in curation you're going to get.

An upvote seller usually doesn't control when upvotes can be bought, but it still leaves two of those vital informations in smartsteem's hands: who is going to upvote and by how much.

Basically, if you set a strong vote early in the upvote chain then a lot of crappy votes right afterwards, you're maximizing how much you can get from that post in particular. This is why some people claim @smartsteem only exists to make money for @therealwolf. Eh, considering the approach of all of it's alternatives, I guess it's true.

HARDFORK 21 SUCKS

No matter how much you speculate, the coming update truly favors only two certain types of steemian while it takes away from everyone else.

Do bid bots lose? Yes. Authors? Yes. Curators? Yes... But then who is going to get anything!? The answer to this question might be easier and more disturbing than it seemed.

Curation trail owners and high steem power circlejerkers. Or even worse, curation trail / circlejerk sellers! (cough @qurator and @smartsteem soverignity cough oh and fuck their competition cough cough)

By the way, don't listen to anyone who says curation doesn't pay. It's a much easier job than most people think and it can easily pay over 100% of the value of your own upvote.
