If you want to make the most out of your Splinterlands collection, you have to play it yourself and win! That's what's going to make the most bang for your buck. But if you want to win, you have to study the game, otherwise you'll do nothing but waste your time, all while not earning as much as you could.
That's what we're doing in Bronze TOP BATTLES Studies: we analyze three battles from the highest MMR players, learn their strategies and try improving upon them. That's how we're going to become great players that make more money. We begin after our giveaways!

"Yodin? Psh, who is Yodin anyway?", says Kelya before entering this match and obliterating her opponent through speed and armor.
In this Rise of the Commons 99-mana match, otherwise weak picks like Flying Squid and Demented Shark finally see the light of day. And it's thanks to Flying Squid's extremely high health that Yodin's Blast attacks can't get through to the back line.
I must say there was a little bit of luck involved, as an early hit to Spark Pixies was enough to kill it altogether. But then again, that could have happened only because of Kelya boosting her team's speed.
In Equalizer battles, you either heal a lot or you punch a lot. For this match, @or4sn4's team dealt 2 damage more than
@agb1332's. That meant a lot of difference during this fight, but it wasn't the only decisive factor.
At some point in the battle, @agb1332's Creeping Ooze was at the front line just as it was Grenadier's time to attack. Because of his Oppress ability, that meant he'd one-shot the enemy Creeping Ooze, dealing 6 damage in a single strike!
@agb1332 protected his team from magic and melee attacks, but
@or4sn4 got through using the one method they weren't prepared for: ranged attacks. Like I said in my last post, if rules aren't restrictive enough for a match, pack your best punch.
Sometimes I see a Llama-Kron team, and I have to ask, are you guys just being lazy? The team from that screenshot above beats Llama-Kron and Llama-Grund. Why are you still using Llama-Kron anyway? Llama-Grund is always a better option, regardless!
