Yeah, it's important to have competent leadership, obviously. The thing is, though, leadership positions are being redefined. pfunk@pfunk, you see that post of mine about the LA fireworks? @fedoraonmyhead/fireworks-across-la-reveals-the-decentralized-future-of-america

Governing bodies are having less control. So the real puzzler, to me, is how societies will find order in this more decentralized future. Smaller, neighborhood governments? Private security? All within an ever more general, loose framework of state/federal governments?
