On Saturday night, Abdullah Al Mamun told the first light on the telephone that he was campaigning for election campaigning from his home constituency in Reared House House. A man with a mask went missing from the back of the building with a stiff metallic object on his head. He fell into the ground. There was plenty of blood on his head. Somehow came down from the building. People nearby told the police. Within ten minutes police came and rescued him. He was treated at the local Royal London Hospital. Yesterday he returned home. Mamun said he had to give 11 stitches on his head.
The councilor said that Abdullah Al Mamun has no hostility with anyone. He said that this attack has been done to prevent him from campaigning. Earlier, a person of Bangladeshi origin had threatened to stop him from campaigning.
Ashapayee's mayor candidate Abul Mansur Oheed Ahmed protested the incident yesterday at a press conference in the afternoon. He said in the first light, those who carried out the attacks are terrorists. Such behavior is not desirable in a democratic system. Ahid Ahmad said he met local police chief and returning officer. In addition to the speedy trial of this incident, his party councilors asked for security of the candidates.
