Once upon a time...
There was a little girl that watched all those princess films, being taught that once love is found, by just glancing at someone handsome, that the little girl was saved,She will be looked after and most of all happy through a type of submission.
All the little boys watching being taught to be resourceful heroes, that they are the protectors of what was most valuable that they are possess the power to make the choices.
At the turning point of each fairy tail, everyone has to defy what it expected. From defying the elders orders, to being courageous when no-one thought that the main character would step up.
I would like to think that its such reason that makes us coming back for more , regardless of our age.
Often I look back to such fairy tails and think, Oh how easy it would be, but looking at it now, it was never easy.
We thought it was, but watching them at the ages that we did, life was a lot easier as a whole.
Now we are at the point of defying what others think , and now we have to be courageous.
Since that first fairy tale, we have lived a little, those fairy tales seem further and further from the truth , live one cannot only live and survive on love, even though we wish it were true.
The damsel in distress may have to save herself,
The hero , may be the type to procrastinate.
The happy ever after , did not end with a kiss and rolling credits.
... because life has now shown us that that is the tipping point is to do the Work.
Things don't just happen, we make them happen. We put in the work.
The truth is; fairy tales exist, but unlike in most movies, we never see them work.
Work on themselves or on their relations.
But once that is included into the fables,
Wouldn't the story be a little more real and complete?
What do you think need to be added to fairy tales?
Until Next Time ...
