Today I bring a sorta interesting thought.
Most of my life the Canadian Dollar was usually hovering around 80 US cents. Or 80%. I found a source that says the historic averages are between 75% and 80% of the USD. Today, the Canadian Dollar is 0.73 USD
That is a Voyageur dollar and a Peace dollar.
Size comparison.
The Peace is a bit larger, is 90% pure and contains about 0.773 troy ounces of silver.
The Voyageur is 80% pure, and contains 0.6 troy ounces.
My calculations put that st around 77% of 1 USD
How do the cental banks keep that ratio in a fiat currency world? Well, I assume they're in cahoots.
As George Carlin used to say something to the effect of, "Its a big old club, and you aren't in it"
Whats my point? I don't really have one, it's just kind of interesting.
