In the Derbyshire Peak District is a reservoir known as Ladybower. Built just before WW2 to serve water to South Yorkshire, at one end is a pair of giant overflow holes known locally as the "plugholes." Most of the year the water level is low but when it rains a little more than usual, the plugholes overflow attracting many people to visit and shoot it. Both plugholes are approx 10 mtrs in diamter with a 30 mtr vertical drop to a series of culverts taking the water to wherever it goes...
Being pre-disposed to shoot in the dark, I turned up with a tripod and a flashlight....
I visited the Plughole on a previous ocassion in the dark using a 12mm Samyang fisheye lens deliberately tilted to create a distorted world...
The Plughole under the stars... I managed to grab 57 shots of 30 seconds here before the clouds rolled in...
