We lightpainters could be described as a bunch of lunatics. Who else would venture in to the Derbyshire Peak District in freezing conditions, climbing and slipping up a snow covered hill to get the best vantage point for this traffic trail shot?

For the above shot, I used a 5000 lumen flashlight to light up the scene for composition and also to enable focussing to occur in the dark. Then it's a case of waiting for a car to drive past to unwittingly take part in my lightpainting photo.
Surprise View
I've done many light trails before, some more dangerous than others. This is a shot I've done before but never with a full frame camera so it would have been rude not to stop and shoot it on my way past in the dark. This is also a dangerous photo to take; stood on a 5 foot square rock with a 30 foot drop behind me; falling down wouldn't have ended well...

This night's trip out in the dark was populated by many many plane trails. I spent ages removing little dots of light.... Note to self: don't point your camera towards Manchester Airport!
Highway to Hell
And finally, something a little bit more experimental here; Recipe: Stand above Junction 30 on the M1 motorway avoiding the Rozzers and shoot in one exposure with mid exposure lens and tripod swaps. Rotate until OCD is satisfied.....
