I started lightpainting quite a few years ago and I remember being obsessed with waving light sticks, wands or any object that emitted light around in the dark and also being quite happy with the results as a novice.
This is a collection of my earlier stuff where I blundered my way through trying to work out how to actually make the shots:
This was my very first model photoshoot approximately 7 years ago and I remember having to pick up my jaw off the floor when this model, whose name I cannot remember, entered the room in lingerie!
Having lightpainted for a while since I shot this, I can see all the mistakes in the RAW file. And back then I was using a crop sensor camera!
More or less at the same time as I shot the first image above, I met another lightpainter, 
This is Tim, posing in a no longer accessible tunnel, "Oldknows" with me waving a fibre optic brush around in the dark:
Tim also introduced me to the wonderful world of net curtain waving in the dark: (Lord only knows what Tim was doing with the net curtains when he realised what could be done with them!)
And finally this is me spinning a home made orb in a gatehouse leading to an ancient monastery, one of the earliest orbs I actually got right:
As usual all of the above were shot in one photographic exposure and are not Photoshop creations which has been the aim right from the start.
