I've done something today which has been brewing for a while; I deleted my Instagram account.
I failed to see the point of Instagam now I regularly post to my Hive account. I get rewarded with a cryptocurrency and with Instagram I've found it difficult to spend "likes" and my bank won't accept "exposure" as a form of currency! Hive / PeakD is the future!
Instagram as a form of social media is just awful. I'm giving away personal information all the time and the algorithm just keeps giving me more of the same shite every day. At some point I must have viewed a picture of a model with 32GG jugs and now all I see is jugs everywhere! All I can think is that poor girl must have awful back ache walking around with those things protruding in front of them!
It would be nice just for once to see actual photos of real people in real circumstances, not fake tans, fake smiles pretending to be happy and only showing the world what they want people to see.
I can produce an absolute masterpiece of a light painting shot and post it to IG only for it to dive bomb with not much more than 100 likes (which I can't spend!). In the meantime, someone with an absolute dog shite of an image post and gets a thousand likes.
With Hive, I may not score very high rewards every time I post but at least a few Hive is more rewarding than nothing!
So anyways, Instagram has been deleted and the app removed from my phone. In the meantime, here's a picture I prepared earlier of Instagram being burned!
About me:
I usually specialise in shooting lightpainting images but occasionally dabble in urbex and artistic model photography. I'm always on the lookout for someone to collaborate with; please don't hesitate to get in touch if you'd like to create art.
