Hive has given many of us a chance and opportunity to expose more of what the world is like out there and a chance to express our thought to people so they can see things the way we see them.
There are various medium one can use to make these thoughts known like Ecency, peakd, leofinance, and so on. Making your thought known to people should be done nicely and properly so they can understand. I will be sharing some hints that can help you improve your writing experience here.
I'm no longer new to ecency but I'm still new to a lot of things here on ecency. The only way for us to grow and be perfect is to learn more and more every day. I've been opportune to introduce hive via ecency to a few of my friends who I know have the talent of a writer and they have been doing so well here on hive but there is this question I get all the time. How did they do this? How do they earn such an amount? I don't understand how she made that format, how can I make my text look this way?
Today, I will be sharing with you basic knowledge of making your write-up look attractive to readers with simple formats. Let me start with what we know.
Ecency already provided us with some format on the app that can help us make our writing look good
The B is for bolding. How do you bold your text? There are two ways to bold your text, firstly you can highlight the text you want to bold then click on the B format. That's the first way.
The second way is for you to add the star symbol twice then your text then the star symbol again.
Making your text Italic
There are also two ways to make your text italic firstly, you highlight the text you want to make "Italic" then you click on the I function. The other simple way is to add the star symbol once, add our text then add the star symbol again.
Making your text appear in the middle
how can you make your text appear in the middle of the write-up or center? Well, there is no function for that on the ecency app but there is a code to it. I call it a code or format
If you're familiar with mathematics, you would know the signs called greater than[>] and less than [<]. You add the less than sign then type "center" you then close it with the greater than sign [
how to increase and reduce the size of your topic.
Adding a topic or sub-topic to your write-up can be very crucial especially when it comes to things that you have to separate and explain. This is also simple, all you have to do is add the hash [#] sign and leave a single space before you add your text. The number of hash signs you add will determine the size of your topic size. One hash sign will make a bigger topic and two will reduce the sign, the same goes for three, four, and five.

Joining community
Many newbies make the mistake of posting in one community and this might be because this is the community they got the highest curators from. If you're a newbie and you're reading this, there are hundreds of communities out there that you haven't explored. Each community has its uniqueness, find the community that best fits what you want to talk about before writing. Also, it is advisable to read the communities rules and regulations so you can get the best from them.
Participate in a contest
The more communities you join the more you have options for a different contest for each week. With this, you would be able to widen your thinking capacity and diversify. You would always have a topic to write about and get to read other people's ideas on the same topic.
Engagement
Hive is about engagement. Do you want followers? Engage! Do you want more upvotes? Engage! Do you want your reputation to go up faster? Engage!
What is the Engagement I'm talking about? You can't be recognized in a place if you continue to keep quiet. Your voice is needed, your thoughts and ideas are needed and when you speak out people tend to notice you. That's what the world of hive is like too, it doesn't matter the country, state, or region. You can create your relevance when you engage with other people post on hive and share your ideas too, this will help build your account.
