It's that time of year again when the snow flies and the temperatures plummet in the Northeastern part of the USA. Snow can be such fun to play in as long as you are layered up with some nice warm clothing. The air is crisp and clean after a snow fall, which for us is almost every night due to lake effect snow from the Finger Lakes of Upstate NY.
Hello everyone, how's your #hive going? This hivean becomes a snowbird come late January. By then, I have had enough fun in the snow and the cold weather, well to be honest, it's all those dang layers ya gotta put on just to make it to the mail box and back, not to mention the metal cleats I add to my boots so I don't fall and break my butt.
Florida here we come.
This year I decided the only way we could pull this off ,with, ya know, that dang virus and all, was to rent a private home and just stay put for our entire visit. In the past, we would hit the west coast and the east coast with a few other stops along the way, it was great. But I must say, the home is gorgeous, with our own very private heated pool, a fire place, BBQ, beautiful flowers, um, sorry I rave too much. But we did take a chance, this place was rented in July and had to be paid in full, with a strict NO REFUND policy.
We got lucky!!
Florida is a #birdwatcher's heaven. Just sitting by the pool in the early morning, the songbirds wake up and the morning doves coo .

This guy just came out of nowhere and strutted by ,as I soaked in the warm sun lounging in my sand chair at the waters edge.
Talk about a beautiful voice, she sent music to my ears.
I looked her up to try and identify and came up with Warbling Vireo, a small North American songbird. It made me feel happy to just sit and listen.
It's funny, this pix was taken in Ocala, Florida, yet it is a Northern Cardinal, I did not know they migrated this far south. We still spot them in NY in the winter.
He sure is handsome though.
Not long ago there was a photo challenge that 
Now I literally have several hundred or maybe a thousand pictures of birds. I enjoy #photography and observing nature, but for the life of me, I could not find a single pix of a bird anywhere near wire. Biff!
Arrive in Florida, first bird shot, yep. you guessed it. A bird on a wire.
