In this round 141 of the PhotoFeed: Portrait Photography contest, I wanted to take part by sharing a portrait of a clothing store employee at Pasar Baru, where I work. On my way back from the mosque, I happened to pass by her shop. Her face looked a bit confused, and every now and then he rubbed his eyes, fighting off sleepiness.

Maybe it’s because the market hasn’t been doing well lately — fewer buyers, yet employees are still pushed to meet sales targets set by their bosses.

From his expression, I could see a quiet hope that someone would stop by and buy something.
It perfectly reflects how I feel too, during those quiet days when no customers come.
