Hands down, I believe the best splinter right now continues to be the Earth Splinter.
Armed with the new Beta Legendary summoner Prince Rennyn, the Earth Splinter retains its advantage because of its strong ranged attack monsters combined with its high-health and multi-healing monster support. The low-mana-costing Swamp thing only helps to secure the deal along with the new addition of the low-costing Brownie which help it to remain competitive in low-mana formats.
Throw in the Spirit of the Forest and Prince Rennyn, and we have an effective counter to the high-mana formats too. Yet out of all the splinters, what makes the Earth Splinter so devastating is its overall versatility. The Flesh golem not only serves as one of the best tanks in the game but counters magic attacks via its Void ability at high level combat.
