Die Pfaffenhütchen-Gespinstmotte ist ein Nachtfalter aus der Familie der Gespinst- und Knospenmotten (Yponomeutidae). Die Raupen mit den Gespinsten findet man von Mai bis Juni. In Ihrem Gespinst leben die Raupen gesellig. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit fressen ganze Büsche kahl. Die Raupen sind völlig ungefährlich und stellen für Menschen keine Gefahr dar.
The spindle ermine is a moth from the family Yponomeutidae. The caterpillars with the gossamer moths can be found from May to June. In their webs the caterpillars live sociably. Within a very short time whole bushes eat bare. The caterpillars are completely harmless and pose no danger to humans.

Wer in den vergangenen Tagen in der Natur unterwegs war, dem sind bestimmt Sträucher aufgefallen, die komplett mit Raupennestern eingesponnen waren. Das schaut schon etwas gruselig aus. Wenn dann noch lange Fäden bis zum Boden reichen an denn ganze Bündel von Raupen hängen, ist das für den Betrachter skurril. Jetzt sind die Raupen erwachsen und stellen das Fressen ein.
Anyone who has been out in nature in the past few days will have noticed shrubs that were completely woven together with caterpillar nests. That looks a bit spooky. If there are long threads reaching down to the ground, because whole bundles of caterpillars are hanging from them, it's a bit bizarre for the observer. Now the caterpillars are grown up and stop eating.

Nach wenigen Tagen verpuppen sie sich gemeinschaftlich in einem Gespinst. Der nachtaktive Falter fliegt ab Juni in einer Generation. Der Strauch erholt sich vom Raupenfraß schnell. Schon kurz danach treibt er wieder aus und übersteht den Kahlfraß ohne größeren Schaden.
After a few days they pupate together in a web. The nocturnal moth flies in one generation from June. The shrub recovers quickly from caterpillar feeding. Shortly afterwards it sprouts again and survives the feeding without major damage.

Im Gegensatz zu den Raupen ist der kleine Falter ein richtiges Schmuckstück, wie ich finde. Fast schon edel kommt er mit seinem weißen Kleid. Er fliegt künstliche Lichtquellen an.
In contrast to the caterpillars, the little moth is a real gem in my opinion. Almost noble he comes with his white dress and flies to artificial light sources.
