Das weiße Waldvögelein ist in vielen Gebieten noch zahlreich zu finden. In den Wäldern entlang von Main und Tauber finde ich diese Orchidee in großer Anzahl. Oft findet es sich in Mischwäldern, in denen auch seltenere Orchideen wie der Frauenschuh vorkommen. Finden kann man die Pflanze zwischen Mai und Juni. Wie alle wild wachsenden Orchideen steht auch das weiße Waldvögelein unter Naturschutz. In seinem Bestand ist es allerdings noch nicht gefährdet.
The white helleborine orchid is still abundant in many areas. In the forests along the Main and Tauber rivers I find this orchid in great numbers. It is often found in mixed forests, where rarer orchids such as the lady's slipper are also found. The plant can be found between May and June. Like all wild growing orchids, the white helleborine orchid is also a protected species. However, it is not yet endangered in its existence.

Mit einer Wuchshöhe von über einen halben Meter überragt es die umliegenden Maiglöckchen. Diese sind längst verblüht, so dass nur die Blätter zu sehen sind. Das Gegenlicht erzeugt einen tollen Hintergrund, der kaum durch störende Pflanzen beeinträchtigt wird. Sonne und Wolken im Wechsel sorgen für unterschiedliches Licht.
With a growth height of over half a meter it towers above the surrounding lilies of the valley. These have long since faded, so that only the leaves are visible. The backlighting creates a great background that is hardly affected by disturbing plants. Sun and clouds alternating provide different light.

Nur kurz öffnet die Pflanze ihre Blüten. Eine Krabbenspinne nutzt die Gelegenheit, um nach Beute Ausschau zu halten. Für mich war es ein Grund, die Blüte im Detail zu fotografieren. Die Spinne ist auf jeden Fall eine schöne Zugabe, mit der ich nicht gerechnet hatte.
The plant opens its flowers only briefly. A crab spider takes the opportunity to look for prey. For me it was a reason to photograph the blossom in detail. In any case, the spider is a nice addition that I had not expected.
