Daughter became lawyer and attained justice for father after, 16 years of his murder!

Nope! Not a fictional story!

I heard about it last week. All those media and headlines were overflown with headline like this. I was taken aback the moment I came to know about this incident thinking,
"wow! is this A real-life Miracle in cell No. 7 movie! Or even more actually" (Screenshot taken from news) Shagufta, Daughter of Prof. Taher who have become a lawyer to get justice for her father.
And finally after 16 years, she achieved it last week!

It is a Korean movie, a very renowned even outside of Korea.

In short, this cinema is about-
A motherless small girl whose very innocent father was accused for a heinous crime he has not committed. But he was alleged and convicted as guilty. And then later the small girl grow up and proved her father NOT GUILTY.
Even I myself has watched this movie perhaps more than ten times and equally cried every time being overflown by those emotions.

However, after hearing about (late) Dr. Taher's story again in recent days, I studied about his case and progress a bit more including his daughter, Shagufta's struggle and success story.
Then I realized, bleeding hell! She is no joke! In a country like this, achieving such success in finding justice after so many yeas, is beyond my comprehension.

Shagufta's story actually bit the cinema beyond!

Late Professor Dr. S. Taher Ahmed, was a professor of Geology & Mining at Rajshahi University (A public university in the north part of Bangladesh) until he was brutally murdered and absconded in 2006

At that time Shagufta Tabassum was only starting her university when, late Prof. Dr. S Taher Ahmed, her father was brutally murdered.
The murderers were actually caught right after but they got away.
Yes! Because Dr. Taher's family was not politically or economically powerful, those murderous bastards got away just like that back in 2006.
And how agonizing it can be for the victim's family, that they didn't even know that the criminals got away at the beginning!
Not to mention, just like to the students, Dr. Taher was as amazing and dear as her father.

Perhaps then Shagufta's life became upside down when she experienced that even after the murder, the criminals actually got away and living a good life in front of their eyes!

So all these gruesome reality and injustice hit immensely hard to that dearly loved Shagufta at that young age.
She started to study LAW to find justice for her father's murderers. And her mother and brother were a shadow over her.

16 years!

All these years, she never had a normal life like any other people. Her soul and mind was occupied by only that case.

And I tell you, just becoming a lawyer doesn't make you invincible in this country. Let's say- becoming a lawyer after many years of study and practice is, just getting a sword to fight. But you yet to know,

• How to move the sword and fight?
• whom to fight?
• How much powerful the enemy is.
• Where to start
• Where to go to find support or if there is any support at all!

Then hardship comes getting involved in that case.
She started then to learn how to fight to seek justice, where to go to find support, how to proceed in the right way and all that beyond our comprehension.
Her success of getting verdicts for the convicted tells us she is a hero. As a woman living in a country like this, I can try to comprehend how hard it was for her.
She had sacrificed so many things in her life, always living in an anxiety while fighting with her best!

A daughter (late) Dr. Taher (RIP) deserve the best. She is a hero for him. And I hope all fathers in this world, stop thinking of their daughters as burden rather gifts.

If you teach and brought them up well, they too will become your strength just like any other son, dear fathers.
