I remember Fyodor Dostoyevsky saying
Overly conscious gentleman? It's a real thorough sickness. Let the world go to hell, but you should always take your tea.
I took the advice to the heart even then and till now, encouraging others upon chances as well. Now, of course, doing so, it is as complicated and hard to do as easy it sounds.
Being overly conscious, by default, comes with our nature, as a social creature, however controlled our mind belongs to us, not to mention, over thinking and feeling anxious even over unrelated things has been increasing more than before. Most of us do feel overly conscious in their day to day encounters and interactions more frequently than it is actually necessary.
Now, you might say, who am I to decide that line for anyone?
The era we are living in has been practicing ACCEPTANCE in a broader sense in every passing day, regardless how irrational or absurd it seems to the other classes or minds. If someone demands, they are cows, born in a human body, then the whole world would "so be it", let them have it, in peace and in piece!
And certainly, I too have developed a greater sense of acceptance over the time, deciding, "Indeed!! Everyone is constantly fighting their own battle. So yes, why not just leave them be, in whatever they find little solace of mind regardless of its absurdity."
Then again, I have been pondering for a while that, always being considerate and letting go of your judgment just to prove a better version of acceptance, could also be remarked as an act of nonchalance, do you not think?
Overly conscious of anything, even if that is something of a healthy habit, seems unusual to me if not "absurd" (I do not quite like to use the word "absurd").
There is this friend of mine, who is overly conscious about mental health.
Of course, I myself do not let a chance to go if there is a discussion of mental health awareness.
But the life we are leading currently, however it is in our own circle, has its impact, which certainly does not always align with the calculation of the emotion we depict in our mind. If we are always being obsessed and constantly at that, seeking awareness and adequate sustenance of mental health, in whatever we are reading, watching, talking, or seeing, then at some point, things will only be jumbled up more than normally it would have.
Why?
That is what I mentioned previously, our life is intertwined and impacted with the actions of people, even those who will never be aware of each other's existence in their whole life, let alone social unknown or known circles and occasional strangers.
Sometimes, it is just better to let go, regardless of being obsessed over an act that hurts you, or makes you feel negative emotions.
Now of course, I am not implying to apply it on all the causations and keep ignoring and letting go, however, we should and perhaps we can develop an inclination with our own limits and boundaries that what we should and can let go, and which one should or could not.
Because at the end of the day, it is YOU who is feeling, it is you who is suffering, and it is YOU who will be evolving through the incident...developing an inclination, a judgment, and a plausible hypothesis of rational adjustment with the incident, while considering how to cope with the reality is also a wise way to find solace.
As we cannot really stop often happening or feeling a negative sense or emotion, neither we can successfully ask the question of "why this? or why me?", how about we cope up, become conscious, avoid any relative causations further, while making ourselves looking at some soothing emotions and not be afraid of living or fear of confronting similar symptoms.
Because after all, it is inevitable that as long as you are alive, there will be more.
So, why not instead of being over conscious or cautious of living and laughing, when you, yourself will be the one to deal with that upon times like those, how about drink a tea, and let the world go to abyss for as long as it is!
