The first step of solving any problem is accepting there is a problem. And the fact that global warming is becoming big problem cannot be rejected by any one. Heavy industries in first world countries is one most important reasons behind rapid global climate change yet world leaders were unwilling accept this truth. And they were rather interested in keeping their eyes closed and mouth shut to be in the good books of first world countries. Although a few leaders outspoken about impact of industrialization in first world countries in global climate change, all they were was outspoken. Until Obama administration accepted responsibility and signed in the Paris climate change agreement in 2015. The agreement aimed at reducing carbon emissions by 26-28%. Implementation of the agreement would have been a really positive and first effective step world leaders would have taken.
But the policy of current US President Trump is destroying any hope of effective steps by world leaders to reduce effects of climate change, yes reduce effects of climate change, we collectively abused environment for hundreds of years and we cannot take back all the torture we have inflicted upon mother nature; the very thing that nurtured us to be the beings we are today. But current US President took it upon himself not to do something like that. He decided withdraw from Paris climate change agreement. Such a step is expected of him because he may be in the exclusive of very few in the world saying things like climate change is a ‘’hoax’’ when people all over the world are facing the effects of climate change.
I again want to say that until and unless we accept that climate change is problem we are going to be able to solve the problem, and leaders like President Trump are obstacles to solve the problem that is climate change.
