Good evening one and all. I hope that this post finds you well and ready to take on the rest of the week.

Here are a selection of also rans from a visit to my favourite Lime Kiln in deepest, darkest Derbyshire with my mate a few weeks back.

My mate Paulo and I drove to the usual spot at the far end of the car park at Millers Dale train station and wandered our way down to the kiln whilst having a much needed catch up....It had been a while.

I got cracking with a series of images I had thought up before we arrived. They all involved swapping the lens mid-exposure. This was required as half of the image was taken using a base image created on a glitch app on my phone and displayed on the screen. This requires a macro lens to capture that part of the exposure as my phone screen needs to fill the frame, then a lens swap to wide angle for the silhouettes in the lime kiln. I love this technique as it literally opens up so many avenues of creativity to explore.

The title image involved shooting my phone screen for the green web then swapping lenses to 20mm. I next had to pan the camera to "try" and line Paulo up on opposing thirds of the frame. As you can see I failed at perfect alignment but I still quite like the outcome.

More glitch based fun with this one but this time paired with a silhouette back lit with the broken tank of my sons old water pistol. I love repurposing such things and its orange colour is deep and rich. I also used a green laser which is a great colour to pair with orange. All sat nicely inside a glitch image created from an old lightpainting created wit Chris T in my second favourite lime kiln.

Finally we created this one using an image of a pcb which I have mirrored. Inside was another back lit silhouette but this time finished with a few passes of the www.lightpaintingbrushes.com feather blade and blue gel for a kind of portal effect.

I hope you have enjoyed this set and if it raises any questions please feel free to drop me a line.
