Good afternoon and I hope you're all well in body and mind.
First post here on hive and I just wanted to outline something about being blacklisted. I did this by complete accident, someone commented on one of my posts outlining I had voted for the wrong vests. I immediately went back and thought I voted for the correct people. I've always been about backing the man on the street, not the one with money trying to impose their law so to find out I'd been blacklisted was a bit of a shock. Fingers crossed this doesn't affect my time here and apologies if it appeared I was backing the bad guy.
Anyway back on to the matter at hand. I've enjoyed doing these sorts of portraits. I find them so creepy and quite hard to look at. Twisting my head like a dog when its owner says the word sausage
The technique for these is quite simple and I'll go through a few points.
The most important piece of kit for these is a camera rotation tool. This is what allows me to twist reality in such a way. I set up a flash to my right and frame up so the tip of my nose falls in the middle of the frame. I begin the exposure and fire the flash. Rotate the camera 180 degrees and pop the flash again. Due to the flash only illuminating one side of my head the two halves meet up perfectly, creating some truly freaky portraits.
All shot in a single long exposure in the comfort of my kitchen.
