Tonight, I am putting in some work to study the ProFM material for certification. The service provides one year of access and coaching to help learn what is necessary to perform the job at a professional level.
The first section has been primarily focused on the competencies for facility professionals. That means that it is a grand overview of the profession, primarily based around standards and roles within the organization.
Part of understanding the material is becoming familiar with terms, which are standardized through ISO. Many of the terms are not what one might choose. However, in the long-run, they would allow professionals to better communicate needs and solutions amongst each other.
The course has over 1000 pages of material. I have not been diligent in reading and taking the quizzes. I need to redouble my efforts.
I thought I would pop in and leave an update.
