I could sit here and ask why, but what good would it do,
Knowing the answer will not bring me you.
I could choose though to think of all the good that we had,
For all the laughter that made me glad.
I did for you and you did for me,
And for each other we were happy.
But as life would have it, without a sign,
It all crashed and you no longer were mine.
I could choose to give in to the pain and the hurt,
I could cry and shed the tears as when one is burnt.
Or I can choose to be thankful for all the memories,
Appreciate the time when you were my honey.
I can look forward and expect life again bring,
Happier days, where I laugh love and sing.
