So... this is embarrassing... but errm... I lost my owner key to my old account fabrew@fabrew. It's over.

Well, the account isn't dead per se, as I still have a posting key, but this is all I have, just a posting key - can't update anything, can't withdraw or deposit anything, cant do anything other than write, this is why I like to call it my Zombie Account.

What happened? Besides my clear underestimation of the rules of Steemit, I call it being a straight up Noob.

After realizing what happened, the first memory that came to my mind was when I first loaded World of Warcraft on my PC, as as the smart person I considered myself to be, I decided to immediately venture out far into the land, just to get instantly squashed by a level skull npc and be left feeling stupid and like I didn't know shit.

The same thing happened, but it felt much much MUCH worse. This time, I ventured into Steem without knowing anything about it, and as in WoW, decided to ignore the warnings that said "DO NOT LOSE YOUR PASSWORD", went ahead and changed my owner key because my friends had just told me how I should never ever ever use that key, and I had been doing exactly that for days - using my owner key every time and everywhere.

So I made a new key, but before copying it, I copied the posting key to back it up, but when it was time to copy the new owner key, some giant a-hole of a bad luck happened that I ended up just saving the damn posting key.

I genuinely care for my passwords and for my security, which is why I never save passwords on browsers and always log out. So in this case, the very moment I closed the web page and browser, it was all over.

Now one might think that I could have recovered the password, and you're right... But because I have only been concerned with posting my stories and not making transactions, I have only used my Posting Key for the past 30 days and more. By the time I realized what happened, it was too late...

So I died a little inside, I think there were tears too, but my account literally became the walking dead... With all its great potential and a decent name, I F'd it up...

But it's time to get myself back up, pick up the pieces and start again, here in my new account: fabrews@fabrews.

So welcome to my second chance, which I hope is what you can give me by following my new account and keeping up with all my progress in homebrewing, and sharing more beer drinking experiences together!

Lessons learned, new owner password forged into a titanium plate and surgically implanted in my rib cage - safe and sound. And my thirst for posting has never been bigger! Expect more, expect better! I'm not going anywhere!

Cheers!

PS: Special thanks to my good friend exyle@exyle for helping me set up my new account. I owe you one!
